Top Hair Care Tips

Our hair is one of the first things that people of both sexes recognize first, so it’s important that keep our hair in tip-top shape. It can take a bit of practice and a bit of know-how to get your hair looking and feeling just how you would like it to, but with these tips you will have gorgeous locks in no time:

Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse

Though we may use shampoo and conditioner regularly, the shampoo that we use and think is getting rid of any build up is probably creating build up itself! The best way to get rid of any build up on your hair, as well as any toxins, is to give your hair a good rinse in the shower with Apple Cider Vinegar once a week. You will notice that your hair has more shine and more volume in a short number of weeks.

Add some Immediate Volume

If your hair just doesn’t seem to want to get up and off of your scalp and give you some volume, do not fret; you can have volumized hair in minutes, and without the need for a ton of sticky hairspray. To give your hair that instant volume boost, simply flip your hair upside down and then blow dry your hair on high for ten minutes.

Cut Back on the Shampoo and Conditioner

Most women are guilty of putting a large dollop of shampoo and conditioner in their hair during every shower. Did you know that you only need a dollop that is the size of a dime to a quarter? Save time and money and cut back on the amount of shampoo and conditioner you are using each time you wash your hair.

Smelly Hair Day

If your hair just doesn’t seem to be smelling as fresh as you would like it to be (as in you spent your entire lunch hour standing outside with Ida, the chain smoker) you can quickly give it a boost by simply spraying a comb or brush with your favorite perfume, and then passing the comb or brush through your hair. It will be a subtle but noticeable difference, and you will definitely be able to cover up any unflattering scents and smells.

Hot Oil, Olive Oil Style

Why bother to go out and buy some “mystery” hair oil from the salon or the drug store when you have oil sitting at home in your kitchen right now? Every woman’s hair deserves a treat from time to time, which usually means that your hair needs an extra infusion of moisture. All you need to do in this case is to heat up a tablespoon or two or olive oil, and then apply it to your hair. Leave it in for ten minutes, and then shampoo out.

This is particularly effective if you put the hot olive oil in your hair prior to taking a warm bath. Once you sip into the bath, the steam and warmth in the room will help the olive oil penetrate the shaft of your hair even better, thus allowing your hair to receive more moisture.
